A Note from the Author

As a father of three boys who have all played youth tackle football here in the upper Midwest, I’ve lived through every season this sport throws at you — 100°F August practices where the turf burns through cleats, and late-October playoff games in 20°F wind chill where frozen fingers can’t grip the ball. I’ve seen helmets crack, shoulder pads wear through, and cleats fall apart mid-season. This site is everything I wish I’d known before my first son put on a helmet.
